The chest muscles (pectorals) are responsible for pushing movements and horizontal adduction of the arms. They are among the most trained muscle groups for building upper body size and pressing strength.
The chest consists of the pectoralis major (upper/clavicular and lower/sternal heads) and the smaller pectoralis minor beneath it. The pec major originates from the clavicle and sternum, inserting into the humerus, enabling arm flexion, adduction, and internal rotation.
